Team 401 Robotics welcomed a special international delegation to Blacksburg High School on Thursday, July 9, hosting roughly 20 visitors from Anguilla for a collaborative exchange focused on robotics and science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics education.

The visiting group from the British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean included eighth through twelfth-grade students, coaches from the Anguillian Robotics Association, and various government officials. The delegation traveled to the school to study how Montgomery County Public Schools and virginia Tech have successfully integrated robotics programs into its curriculum and community.

During the visit, the Anguillian guests met face-to-face with members of Copperhead Robotics, the division-wide robotics team based in Montgomery County. The local students provided live demonstrations of their custom-built robots, showcasing their technical capabilities and discussing the engineering and programming processes that go into creating competitive machines.

The exchange aimed to spark new ideas and establish paths for enhancing science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics opportunities back in Anguilla. Leaders from both regions expressed hope that the meeting would serve as the beginning of an ongoing relationship, allowing students from different cultures to share a mutual passion for technology and innovation.
