8 people standing together at the Race for ACCE

Community members, local educators, and supporters gathered yesterday for the annual Race for ACCE event, marking a successful fundraiser that generated $25,000 to assist area students.

The funds raised will directly benefit the Access to Community College Education program, an initiative that helps provide graduating high school students in Montgomery County with two years of debt-free tuition at New River Community College.

The fundraiser saw strong community turnout, drawing participation from members of the Montgomery County Education Association, teachers from Blacksburg Middle School, and numerous local volunteers. At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Guempel handed out medals to honor the participants.
